Tasks
Our volunteer projects in Chile provide you with the opportunity to support orphanages, day-care centers, kindergartens, schools, homes for difficult-to-educate children, teenagers or similar social institutions. We have a large network of social institutions and NGOs in Chile.
Many children and young people grow up in very difficult circumstances. In public institutions, such as orphanages, social kindergartens and day-care centers, the children receive affection and recognition. Unfortunately, many of these facilities are poorly funded and often lack staff. Therefore, they look forward to every volunteer and any support is welcome. If you love children and are responsible, then working on a project with children can be extremely enriching for both sides.
After you have signed up for volunteering with children, we will send you a precise job description for suitable projects. In any case, you will know exactly which social projects you can support and what to expect before you leave.
Depending on the project, the following tasks are possible:
- Care and supervision of the children
- Playing together, making music, dancing, handicrafts, painting and handicrafts
- Help with meals / feed toddlers
- Homework assistance
- Tidy up toys, handicrafts, etc.
- Cleaning work
- Bring babies / toddlers to nap
- Help in the kitchen
- Support children in their development with meaningful occupation
The tasks vary depending on the project.

Flexible, initiative, a sense of responsibility, social, being fond of children
Language:
mid level of Spanish (A2-B1)

Working hours:
Approx. 30 – 40 hours per week (depending on the respective project).
Half-day positions are also available in conjunction with a Spanish course.

Insurance:

Accommodation and Meals
Accommodation is in a homestay. A homestay is similar to a host family. They are rooms in private households in which one or more rooms are rented to volunteers, interns or language students. In most homestays, the landlord himself also lives in the accommodation. All landlords are open minded, very hospitable and eager to receive people from abroad.
Your landlord can be a single person, a warm señora, young professionals, students or even couples and families. Homestay accommodation offers you deep insights into Chilean culture and language.
We offer single rooms as an accommodation option. A double room is also possible on request. Internet access is available and you can book half-board if you wish. You always have free access to the shared rooms, such as the living room, kitchen or bathroom. All accommodations are in a safe location with good transport links.
Work place
Our volunteer projects are spread all over Chile. The majority of the projects, however, focus on the cities of the central region, Santiago de Chile, Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. If you have a special request regarding a city, please let us know when you register.
