Tasks

A work and travel job in the tourism industry in Chile is very varied. You have the opportunity to work in small travel agencies, tour operators, day trip providers or outdoor agencies. Outdoor agencies offer interesting activities such as rafting, canopy, kayaking, canyoning, jeep adventure, trekking and volcano climbing.

When you register, simply let us know your preferences in regards to  job area  and desired location. We will then find a suitable job for you. Before you start your adventure in Chile, you will receive a detailed job and task description from us.

For example, your tasks may include:

  • Working at an office reception
  • Sales of tours, excursions, and leisure activities
  • Handling reservations
  • Administration and marketing assistance
  • Customer service
  • Preparation of equipment for excursions
  • Assistance in implementation of tours
  • Translation activities

Work Hours:
30-40 hours per week

Insurance:
International travel health insurance is required. Liability insurance with international protection and travel cancellation insurance is recommended. You should also take out accident insurance for activities in particularly dangerous areas. more Info

In general, no special vaccinations are required. We recommend that you contact your general practitioner or an appropriate travel doctor before you travel. more info

Accommodations and meals

Accommodation and meals are included and are provided by the employer free of charge. Your meals in the form of breakfast, half board or full board are provided as a prepared meal, food provided or as money for shopping.

Depending on your workplace, you are accommodated in single or shared rooms. The accommodation is usually located directly at the place of work. Internet is usually available and can be used free of charge.

You have the opportunity to work in tourism all over Chile, from the hot north all the way down to bold Patagonia.

Travel agencies, tour operators and outdoor agencies are mainly located in ideal regions that are well developed for tourism. These include, for example, San Pedro de Atacama, La Serena and the Valle del Elqui in the north and Pucón, Puerto Varas and Chiloé in the south. In Patagonia, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas and the Torres del Paine National Park.
