How far in advance should I register?

We recommend that you register 1 to 2 months before the desired start date, so that you can plan and prepare for your language trip to Chile in peace.  If you can’t wait to learn Spanish, you can of course shorten the preparation phase. In general, there are no registration deadlines with us.

When do courses start?

The language courses start weekly every Monday throughout the year. So you can start your Spanish course at any time.

Is there a specific course duration?

You can choose the duration of the course by yourself. New courses always start on Monday. The minimum duration is one week, i.e. from Monday to Friday. Most participants take a language course for 4 to 8 weeks. This is a course length during which you make significant progress with your Spanish skills.

How do you determine placement in the correct course level?

Before starting your language course, you will take a placement test. You take the test either in advance by email or directly at the language school before the course begins. Based on the results of your test, you will be placed in a suitable course.

Do I receive a language certificate after the end of the course?

After successfully completing a Spanish course, every language student receives a certificate confirming the language skills they have acquired.

What countries do other language school students come from?

The language students come from all over the world. This gives you the unique opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world and make new friends during your Spanish course. Many of the students come from Germany, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Brazil, France or even Asian countries.

Does the language school offer leisure activities?

Of course. Your time in South America should be filled with variety, and therefore all language schools offer a wide range of leisure activities. Every day there are different options for recreational activities and a new program every week. There are, for example, joint cooking classes, dance classes, city walks or visits to the cinema after class. At the weekend, day tours are offered to nearby wineries, beaches, national parks, etc. Outdoor activities such as rafting, horse riding, skiing, etc. are also possible.

Where can I live during my language course?

Most language students live in homestays in safe neighborhoods with good transportation connections. Homestays are furnished rooms in private households in which one or more rooms are sublet. You have a single room available, if you wish you can also get a double room. Most of our participants reserve accommodation without meals, as they want to remain flexible in regards to meal times. Half-board is also possible on request. Each resident has free access to the kitchen to store and prepare food.

Do I have internet access at my accommodation?

All accommodations in larger cities have internet. It can happen that certain accommodations in small towns have no internet. We always inform you of this beforehand.

Will I be picked up from the airport on arrival in Chile?

We would be happy to organize an airport pick-up for you. This saves you the hassle of searching for and negotiating with the taxi drivers at the airport. If you do not live in Santiago, your transfer will take you to the bus terminal in Santiago for onward travel.

What does class registration cost?

Registration for your language course is free with us. You only pay the original price of the respective language school. This means that you will not incur any additional costs and you will also benefit from our experience with the best language schools in Chile.

Will my parents still receive children benefits?

You will receive a certificate of attendance from us for your language course to present to your child benefit fund. The respective clerk at your child benefit fund will decide whether or not the child benefit will continue to be paid. Unfortunately we have no influence on this.
Tip: Language trips that serve as preparation for study or work should be recognized. Your language course should be at least 10 hours per week.

What insurance is needed for my language trip to Chile?

In order to participate in an language course program in Chile, you need at least a foreign health insurance plan so that you are insured in the event of illness or an accident. We offer travel insurances that are tailored for a language trip to Chile and offer additional protection (illness, accident, liability, luggage) at affordable monthly premiums. Do I need a special visa for a language course in Chile?

No, a special visa is not required. You can find more information about visas in our travel guide for Chile.

Do you have a 24 hour emergency number?

​Yes. In the very unlikely event that problems arise during your stay in Chile, we are of course always at your side. Regardless of whether the problems are related to your language course or are of a different nature, we are happy to help you at any time. With the confirmation of your language course registration, you will receive a 24-hour emergency number from us. This means that you can reach us outside of our business hours in an emergency.
